Evaluating H2020 research projects

Helena Imminga-Berends has been asked many times to be an independent evaluator of research proprosals, submitted to the European Commission.

In the European Horizon 2020 Research and Development Programme (H2020) a greater attention was placed, compared to earlier Framework Programmes, to imbedding social sciences and humanites (SSH) in all research activities. Besides “Excellence” as an evaluation criterium of submitted research projects, “Impact”of the project became an important new selection criterium, besides the standard “Quality and effiency of the implementation” criterium.

Helena was asked to clarify these new evaluation criteria at a meeting in Utrecht, Febr 2016.   See her power point presentation: Helena on H2020 evaluations.

About 80 participants attended the meeting, with presentations by the Dutch Ministry of Education and Science, by the European Commission (Ms Monica Menapace) and a few Best practice projects by the University of Twente. The meeting  was organised by NethER and RVO.

Horizon Europe is the follow up of H2020, for the period 2021-2027.
